Notification Requirements for Personnel Traveling to Washington, D.C.

ALL travel to Washington, D.C., from any source of funding, requires prior notification to the Texas Office of State Federal Relations (OSFR) and The University of Texas System Office of Federal Relations (UTSOFR).  The only travel to Washington, D.C. by U.T. personnel that is exempt from the notification is personal travel.

Notification can be made either on-line or via fax and must first be made to the OSFR. The confirmation page of the on-line notification, or a copy of the faxed information must then be submitted to the UTSOFR. For your convenience, the notification form for transmission via fax to the Office of State-Federal Relations is available by clicking here. The 3-digit Agency code for UT Brownsville is 747.

To insure compliance with this requirement, the traveler must submit a copy of the notification sent to OSFR and UTSOFR with the Application for Official Travel.  Applications submitted without proof of notification will not be processed and will be returned to the issuing department.
