The University has negotiated significant cost savings for university leased cell phone users. The new vendor is Cellular One and we have negotiated five service options with four phone options. These options are available at http://www.utbtsc.edu/purchasing/wireless-phone.
Effective May 24, 2004, users are able to switch cellular vendors and maintain their current cellular phone number. Effective June 1, 2004, the University is asking that all users of cellular phones, paid by the university, either switch to Cellular One or get Vice Presidential approval to be reimbursed for cellular phones owned or leased by the employee and usage (air time) billed to the employee.
The expense reimbursement will be based on the university-designated provider allowable costs for equipment and service plans. Justification must be provided if the expense reimbursement exceeds the university-designated provider allowable cost.
The "Request for Wireless Telephone Services" form and the "UTB/TSC Employee Option" form can be located at http://www.utbtsc.edu/purchasing/wireless-phone. These forms should be completed and submitted to your appropriate Vice President for approval.
If you have any questions regarding the new phone plans, please contact Laurie Moreno at the Purchasing Office (548-6541).
