An Important Message from UTB/TSC Police Posted: June 15, 2006 This is to advise you that additional security measures are in force on campus after an incident this morning in the Education and Business Complex Parking lot. Additional police personnel have been stationed at the EDBC Parking Lot, at the EDBC Building, and in other parking areas on campus. These measures were taken after a staff member was approached today while getting out of her car by two men demanding her car keys. One of the men was reportedly armed. The staff member got the attention of a Border Patrol unit passing by, and Border Patrol pursued the two men as they drove away. However, they remain at large. We urge you to be alert when entering parking lots and to report any suspicious persons or activity to Campus Police at 882-8232 or call 9-911 if you’re using a university phone. Faculty and staff who plan to work in their offices very early in the morning or late at night should advise Campus Police of their plans.
