OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR UTB/TSC EMPLOYEES

The Open Enrollment Period for benefits is July 1 - 31, 2002. Employees can make changes to their benefits by UT Touch telephone (1-800-888-6824) or online enrollment at www.utsystem.edu/egi. 

Staff and Faculty Open Enrollment Packets were delivered early last week to the departments. The packets contain the following important information: 

• Annual Enrollment Booklet intended to serve as a summary of benefits available to you as an employee or retiree of UT Brownsville.

• Benefit Cost Worksheet that can be used to estimate your total monthly out-of-pocket cost for benefits. 

• Blue Cross Blue Shield Provider Directory provides a listing of participating hospitals, ancillary providers, primary care physicians, specialists, behavioral health practitioners, and supervised and sponsored providers for the immediate area. 

• Delta Dental Provider Directory provides a listing of participating dentists. 

• "What is Evidence of Insurability?" Handout defines and outlines Evidence of Insurability Requirements during the Open Enrollment Period.

• "UT Touch Online & Telephone Enrollment System" Handout contains step by step instructions you can use to gain access to the UT Touch Enrollment System and make your changes online or by telephone during the Open Enrollment Period. 

• Coverage Option Letter (PIN Letter) reports your current benefits and options for the new plan year. The letter also contains a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that you can use to gain access to the UT Touch Online and Telephone Enrollment System when you want to make changes to your benefit during the Open Enrollment Period. Please note that you CANNOT make changes to your benefits without your PIN.

If you did not receive your Open Enrollment Packet or your PIN letter, please contact Human Resources immediately at extension 8809 or 8205. 

A Human Resources representative will also be available on the following dates (see schedule below) to meet with new or current employees who have questions or need assistance updating their insurance coverage during the Open Enrollment Period. Individual meetings will be scheduled by APPOINTMENT ONLY, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Human Resources at extension 8205 or 8809 to schedule an appointment. 

Individual Meetings (30 minutes per person) 

Don't forget to bring your Coverage Option Letter (PIN Letter) with you to your appointment. You cannot make changes to your benefits without your PIN. 

The individual meetings are only for employees who do not know how to use the UT Touch Online or Telephone Enrollment System. General meetings regarding changes in benefits are scheduled to take place at the Benito Longoria Conference Room in the Library. If you haven't already attended one of these general sessions, the last sessions will be held on: 

Wednesday, July 17, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, and 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
