Calculation on Assignment/Encumbered Amount

ASSIGNMENT/ENCUMBER AMOUNT – The following are examples on how to calculate the assignment/encumbered amounts:

ASSIGNMENT AMOUNT (except for overloads/adjuncts)

Staff Nonexempt starting on 4/8/02:

Annualized salary      $20,000.00
Divided by 12 months /             12
Equals Monthly Salary $  1,666.67
Divided by # of hours per month /     176.00 (April 2002)
Equals Hourly Rate for April $         9.46
Multiply by # of hours worked in month x     136.00 (April 8-30, 2002)
Total Salary for April 2002: $  1,286.56
Plus full salary for remainder # of mos. + 6,666.68 (May & Aug 2002 @ $1,666.67/ea. mo.)
Total Assignment Amount $ 7,953.24
 
Staff Exempt starting on 4/8/02:
Annualized salary $20,000.00
Divided by 12 months    /             12
Equals Monthly Salary  $  1,666.67
Divided by # of days per month  /            22 (April 2002)
Equals Daily Rate for April $      75.76
