Let the Resolutions Begin!

Was it ever your New Year’s Resolution not to just lose weight but to start exercising? Well, here’s your chance. The UTB/TSC Wellness Program is the answer to “Where do I start?” You can make this goal a reality.

Remember our slogan for this year is “Taking Wellness to Heart.” It’s time to start putting off your exercise excuses and start your heart towards a better tomorrow. No more excuses!!! It’s time to get your heart pumping and jumping to a better, stronger beat. 

Every UTB/TSC employee is eligible to participate in Wellness. Membership is at no cost to employees. After you join, encourage your peers to join, too. Employees who elect to participate MUST sign a waiver PRIOR to participating in any Wellness activity. The waiver simply verifies that participants are aware of the risks and believe that they are sufficiently healthy enough to participate. All Wellness members are strongly encouraged to receive a physical examination before beginning any exercise program.

Aerobics
Mondays/Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15 p.m.
Gym Annex
Join our certified Aerobics Instructor for a well-rounded cardio-vascular workout that is designed to increase flexibility, improve endurance and enhance cardio-vascular fitness.

Tae-Bo
Tuesdays/Thursdays from 12:15-1:15 p.m.
Gym Annex
This Kickboxing meets Aerobics workout is guaranteed to get your heart pumped up. Our certified Tae-Bo Instructor will lead you through stretching and toning using the Tae-Bo method of exercise.

Basketball
Tuesdays/Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Gym
Half of the gym (half court) is reserved for any Wellness member to play basketball. Get your peers to come out and play so that by the time Field Day comes, you’ll be ready!

Pington
Tuesdays/Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Gym
What is this? This sport is similar to using a racquet to play Badminton. If you enjoy playing Pington or you are interested in learning this enjoyable game, we have half of the gym (half court) reserved for you.

Weight Lifting
Tuesdays/Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Mondays and Wednesdays 5:15-6:00 p.m.
Garza Gym Weight Room
Weightlifting is not supervised or led by an instructor. Members are encouraged to “buddy up” with a friend for safety reasons.

On your Own
Do you go to a gym on your own? Do you exercise with a tape in front of your television? Do you let your dog walk you? All of these activities count as Wellness activities. If you have not signed up do it now and receive a free gift.

Pete Gratale, ESPN Body Shaping: “I need to lose 20 pounds before I start exercising.”
