PBX DIALING GUIDE

This guide should be of help to those users assigned four (4) digit extensions for use with their single line telephones.

This guide should also be of help to those users currently assigned four (4) digit multi line (8 and 16 button) telephones. In any case your direct number must fall within the following ranges:

956.544.3800 through 956.544.3899 956.548.6500 through 956.548.6599
956.544.8200 through 956.544.8299 956.574.6600 through 956.574.6799
956.544.8800 through 956.544.8999 956.983.7000 through 956.983.7999

PLACING AN OUTSIDE CALL:

  1. Lift handset. You should hear dial tone.
  2. Dial 9 to access an outgoing trunk line. You should hear dial tone.
  3. Dial the outside number.
       

PLACING AN INTERNAL CALL - 4 DIGIT TO 4 DIGIT EXTENSIONS:

  1. Lift handset. You should hear dial tone.
  2. Dial the four (4) digit extension.
       

PLACING AN INTERNAL CALL - 4 DIGIT TO 3 DIGIT EXTENSIONS:

  1. Lift handset. You should hear dial tone.
  2. Dial *8 + the three (3) digit extension.
      

PLACING A CALL ON HOLD:

  • Press "Flash" + #4. If there is no "Flash" button try depressing the switchhook.
    Leave handset off hook. Do not hang up!
       

RETRIEVAL OF A CALL ON HOLD:

  • Hang up the handset. Call will ring back.

TRANSFERRING CALLS FROM 4 DIGIT TO 4 DIGIT EXTENSIONS:

  1. Press "Flash" + the extension you wish to transfer the call to. If there is no "Flash" button try depressing the switchhook.
  2. Hang up the handset. If no answer the call will ring back to your telephone. To cancel the transfer press "Flash". If there is no "Flash" button try depressing the switchhook.
      

TRANSFERRING CALLS FROM 4 DIGIT TO 3 DIGIT EXTENSIONS:

  1. Press "Flash" + *8 + the extension you wish to transfer the call to. If there is no "Flash" button try depressing the switchhook. Do not hang up! Call will not transfer otherwise. Wait for an answer!
  2. Advise whoever answers the call of the transfer.
  3. Hang up the handset.
      

CALL PARK:

  • Press "Flash" + *3 . If there is no "Flash" button try depressing the switchhook. This places the call on hold and enables retrieval from another extension.
      

CALL PARK RETRIEVAL:

  • Dial #3 + the extension where the call was parked.
      

CALL FORWARD - ALL CALLS:

  1. Lift the handset. You should hear dial tone.
  2. Dial *1 + the extension where you want all calls to be transferred to.
  3. Hang up the handset.
       

CANCEL CALL FORWARD - ALL CALLS:

  1. Lift the handset. You should hear dial tone.
  2. Dial #1.
  3. Hang up the handset.
      

CALL FORWARD - BUSY / DO NOT ANSWER:

  1. Lift the handset. You should hear dialtone.
  2. Dial *2 + the extension where you want all calls to be transferred to when you are either using your extension or away from it.
  3. Hang up the handset.
      

CANCEL CALL FORWARD - BUSY / DO NOT ANSWER:

  1. Lift the handset. You should hear dial tone.
  2. Dial #2.
  3. Hang up the handset.
      

CALL GROUP PICK UP:

  1. Lift the handset. You should here dial tone.
  2. Dial #5 (this procedure works only for those extensions assigned to your Call Pickup Group).
      

DIRECT CALL PICK UP:

  1. Lift the handset. You should here dial tone.
  2. Dial *4 and the extension that is ringing. This procedure works regardless of which Call Pickup Group you are assigned to.
