Shining Stars/Supporting Star/Team Shining Star

Criteria

Team and individual nominations are awarded based on:

  • Showing Initiative
  • Demonstrating Superior Customer Service
  • Performing Beyond Scope of Work Duties
  • Enhancing the Image of the Division or University
  • Demonstrating an Accommodating Attitude
  • Demonstrating a Willingness to Help Others
  • Performing a High Quality of Work
  • Enhancing the Image of the Department

For single nominations, an individual employee cannot be re-nominated for the same act he/she did with a team. However, the employee can be nominated for other acts he/she did outside the team effort. Please use separate forms when doing team and individual acts.

Team consist of at least two part-time, full-time, and/or work-study Business Affairs employees. For team nominations, there is no maximum number of employees that can be selected at one time for each act, but all employees that participated must be listed for each act performed.

Nominations

Open to all staff, faculty, students and university constituents.
  • Completed on an official Nomination Form by due date as published on the calendar produced by the VPBA Office.
  • Nomination to be reviewed by the Employee Recognition Committee who will make recommendations to the Vice President for Business Affairs.

Award

  • Individuals presented on dates as published on the calendar produced by the VPBA Office.
  • Recipients will be recognized in university publications.
  • A total of three recipients to be selected bi-monthly.

Recognition

  • Award Certificate and paid parking permit for six months.
  • In lieu of parking permit recipient may choose to have one eight-hour day off of work in one of the months for which the award is received, not to exceed 32 hours in 1 year.
